VOW Weddings: Jacqueline & Jonathan

After having been out on “maternity leave” for about 2 years back in Feb, 2016 I decided to get back into the wedding planning game…this was one of my first weddings in the game…I think part of why I chose to do this wedding at that time in my life was because the Bride was an acquaintance & I knew that although my confidence level when it comes to wedding is pretty high, after not doing one for about 2 years I was still a little nervous…

Jackie & Jonathan were such an incredible couple…not only because of their amazing energy, but they both made me feel incredibly comfortable & confident to get back into doing weddings. I know 2 years isn’t a long time to be on leave from something like this…it’s really like riding a bike…but I was still nervous nevertheless…

Here are a few highlights from that amazing wedding….The Dress…The Wedding Party…The Details…the Energy! It was palpable…

Favorites Friday No. 2

TGIF ~ Had an interesting week at my day job {as a Human Resources Director} ~ And so as I get ready to enjoy a great weekend with friends, I’ve put together my Pinterest Picks for the Favorites Friday series post. This week was all about lighter more romantic choices. Sometimes when I have tougher weeks to get through I turn to romance & pretty things to make the days lighter. So here are my favs from this week:

A delicately cool wedding cake from Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine ~ I think this cake is so stunning, bringing in elements of the winter into such a Spring flower is unique & I love it

Color Palette that Inspires

Prior to getting engaged I started doing some research on color schemes that would inspire me for our wedding. I saw this initial color palette about 8 months ago and just this week it’s back on Pinterest for the world to see & admire. I truly love these color combinations & although it’s not ultimately what I went with…it def. gave me something to think about.

Favorite Fun Wedding Idea

This guestbook idea is delightful ~ Photobooths are definitely a huge hit at weddings nowadays…and why not add a little twist to it. Add a chalkboard & give guests the opportunity to send you off with a little note or thank you. Turn the pictures into a fun coffee table at a site like Blurb.com & keep it handy for either a laugh or just to see faces you don’t get to see on a regular basis…bringing back some wonderful memories

Luxurious Table Setting

Our wedding is going to be in the dead of winter ~ I am incorporating a little sparkle & shine into the whole event, so when I came across this table setting a bell went off & my creative juices started flowing again. We have custom linens for the wedding but now I may want to change them. Hmmmm…thoughts?

Quote to Live By

Especially this week, when life sometimes kicks you in the butt ~ You want to run away ~ Or you want to stick around & fight

Whatever you choose at the end of the day ~ This Quote holds so true..So whatever it is that you do, know that you are the only one that holds your destiny in your hands

Dress the Part

As fall approaches & I’m pinning like crazy outfits that I can turn to, I saw this outfit & even though it’s not wedding related I had to share ~ These lighter pastel colors are totally hot this season

BOLD & Vibrant

Speaking of Fall ~ I’m loving this vibrant ranunculus & anemone floral setting from Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine ~ Another favorite pic for the week. I think this can work for weddings AND parties. Seeing this made me feel even more confident about the red color palette I’ve decided to go with for my Bridal Shower. I like to break the rules when it comes to what’s expected ~ Especially for a bridal shower.

And that’s what I have for this week’s Favorite Fridays Series ~ Stay tuned for the next post on my new floral obsession ~ Anemones!

Insight Into The Planner

I visit numerous wedding blogs on a daily basis. And I sometimes wonder who’s behind all that inspiration & point of view. Some blogs just report on weddings, vendors & products within the industry. Some give you a small glimpse into who the writer is…on a recent blog I noticed a great post. A Monthly Recap via Instagram {another recent obsession}…so here is a full recap of my life in pictures via Instagram.

I celebrated a birthday…..enjoyed a wedding….planned & coordinated a wedding…basked in the sun…did a little shopping…played some poker with great friends & changed my hair color.

August was a full month & September is shaping out to be yet another fun filled set of weekends. This will become a monthly post so stay tuned…I think it’s fun to get to know a little more about the writer behind all the pictures & advice.

Inspired by Pinterest Series

For some of you that know me on a personal level I’ve been recently OBSESSED with Pinterest & I pin not only for wedding related topics but pretty much everything under the sun. I’ve decided to do a weekly post series that highlights some of my favorite pins from the previous/current week. I’m often inspired by others & that could then turn into your inspiration! So enjoy the new post series from We VOW To Inspire…

I.Am.Inspired

I am often inspired by color palettes…to the extent that I think I have my heart set on a color palette & scheme for MY wedding one day…I am official inspired and look forward to creating a vintage chic blue/green wedding one day…Check out my two inspirational boards…

Here are a few color palette inspirations as well that I know I want to use:

Montauk.Wedding

My journey started over a year ago…to create a sunkist beachy & vibrant wedding for my clients Marissa & Paul. Location, Gurney’s Inn in Montauck, NY…I was also tasked to create a look for the rehearsal dinner which would be held the night before at Gurney’s but on a tented deck overlooking the ocean…

Marissa & Paul were some of my favorite clients that I’ve had the privilege to work with…open to ideas that I threw at them…and allowed for my creative talents to really kick in. This was by far one of my favorite weddings that I’ve planned soup to nuts…and here are a few highlights of their destination wedding in Montauk…

Weddings.In.Spain

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am when I received an email from a Company called Romantica…they are an exclusive destination wedding planning Company that plans ceremonies & receptions in….SPAIN!!! {most importantly they’ve been doing this for 17 years so you know they will offer the most amazing locations to hold your wedding}…

So their venues are all located in Spain…places such as Madrid & Barcelona…incredible baroque palaces…a medieval castle…a beautiful & quaint country house…or a warm & inviting Cortijo close to the beach!

The venues are not only perfect for ceremonies & receptions…but your guests can stay there too…thus allowing for a truly intimate destination wedding experience not only for you & your partner…but for family & friend!

So if you want to plan something different for your wedding…why not try a destination wedding at one of these incredible venues…

I was looking at some of their venues & had to create a collage of some of the places that I could dream of getting married in! Check them out. They are absolutely stunning…

Trash.That.Dress

As part of the new Photographers Featured Series…I am going to try and find different types of wedding concepts…First pick of the Photographer Feature Series is by Corinna Hoffman. I’ve always loved the concept of Trash That Dress & when I saw that she did a gallery just on that I took the opportunity to do an inspirational board.

The trash that dress concept has taken photography by storm…it’s a great way to get down & dirty after your wedding & capture some truly natural, organic & raw pictures. Great concept…& the bride & groom almost ALWAYS look like they are having a blast with it as well.

Corinna Hoffman has clean & creative angles. Crisp images that showcase her eye for color. Thank you Corinne for your submission to be featured on our site…great work!

It’s very cold in NY today…a blistering 24 degrees & so to bring myself to a warm & wonderful place I decided to create a board inspired by my favorite flower, type of wedding & possibly how I would stylize mine…On this cold day I’m having beach dreams…hope this brings you there…

Create.With.Bamboo

A great and modern-looking option, bamboo is considered one of the most sustainable materials on earth.  Use tall stalks of curly bamboo in centerpieces, or choose bamboo chargers for your reception tables. And of course, mini stalks of lucky bamboo are always a favorite favor.

I believe that because of it’s durability as an organic element that it’s symbolisim can also represent the type of relationship you have. A symbol for longevity (it’s always got green shoots) as well as strength and grace (it bends readily but doesn’t break easily). In Chinese philosophy the straight stem of bamboo symbolizes the path towards enlightenment, the segments of the stem being the steps along the way.

Here are some lovely ways to incorporate bamboo into your event. Whether it be a wedding, shower, or event…

Lush.And.Textured

I haven’t done a board in quite some time, so when I came across this stunning fall wedding on John Rozier’s website…I couldn’t help myself. There was something so rich about the floral textures of this wedding.

Whether you choose a fall color palette or spring one…I think the key here is texture. Give depth to your flowers. Add a non flower item (feathers for example) or just some twigs to something soft and delicate.

When I look at these flowers I just want to go out and grab it. Touch it. Feel them. Induce curiousity in your wedding decor.

B is for Brown – IB#19

Just in time for the fall season…Brown can be a perfect color element for your next wedding or event. A Brown bride is natural and down to earth. The color brown can work with many different colors…greens, purples, reds and yellows to name a few. The color gives off a modern aspect to your event and although a neutral color it gives off a bold aspect to your wedding. From the bridal gowns accents, to favors and flowers. The color is also known to stimulate your appetite.
