Recently a friend of mine from High School asked me to be her wedding planner …and I was truly honored. Not because she is a friend of mine…but she was one of the most stunning brides I’ve ever seen. She’s such a wonderful person inside, that as a bride she glowed. Kelly Clarke & James Kent were married on June 22nd, 2008…I wanted to feature their wedding on my blog because it was one of the most fun weddings I’ve done…and it was even more special because they both are friends of mine.
Kelly & James (Jamal) met back in High School…I knew them both, and from that time they were just the most adorable couple I’ve ever seen. Both Jamal & Kelly were the type of people that everyone gravitated towards. They are funny, kind and just good people.
After many years…these two love birds made it official…Here are just a few of the wedding details…
They got married at the beautiful St. Bartholomew’s church in New York City.
The bride wore a stunning trumpet style dress with fantastic embroidery and crystals throughout. Her veil was cathedral length with matching flower crystals and lace. Kelly had a stunning white peony bouquet, while her bridesmaids walked down the isle with lush pink ones.
After the ceremony it was of course time to party. The reception was held at an Abigail Kirsch venue, The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. The decor was simple and elegant. Superior Florist created happy Gerber Daisy arrangements on each table, that was accentuated by pin-spot lighting.
The escort table had an incredible lush peony centerpiece that was breathtaking.
You can always tell when the groom completely adores his new bride. It was an incredible crowd…an incredible wedding…and I enjoyed every minute of it. One of the best weddings I’ve ever done…and I’m truly lucky to have been a part of Kelly & James’ wedding day. Congratulations you two!

This post is dedicated to all those brides who can’t really afford the brand new Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier and Badgley Mischka’s of the wedding dress world. So there is an affordable wedding alternative for you. PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com is just what you are looking for. You can still wear these designers but at a fraction of the cost, and after you are done with it…you can sell right back to another bride so she too can enjoy the beauty of a high end wedding dress.
After taking a look at the site I was able to find a stunning Monique Lhuillier for $1,200! These dresses cost anywhere from $3000-$5000. Please go and see for yourself!
Here are a few of my favorite designs available for sale:

Personally I’m not a HUGE dessert person, but you have to have some sort of cake at the wedding. The Rent-A-Cake Company from Atlanta makes it easy to have a fabulous looking cake without having to break the bank. The cakes are made out of Styrofoam, but has icing on the outside to make it look like a real cake. There is also a little hidden compartment where you can actually put a real piece of cake to make your guests think you are taking a piece of it. These cakes run around $145 to rent. And then you can go to your local bakery and have sheet cakes created and cut at the reception. Your guests won’t even know!
Check out these incredible designs:
And those are just a few of my favorite ones. You can also design your own cake with pre-made forms. I highly recommend you check this company out, and see how you can get an inexpensive cake that still looks like a million bucks!

I came across this incredible site…it’s called WishPot. You can store all your great finds on here. Link to actual items and even have a wedding registry…and not just from one store! And if you really need some more help, they have a list of Wedding Experts to help you through your process…
I know we would all love to own an original Chanel ring, or show off a fabulous pair of Kara Ross drop earrings..but the truth is we all can’t sometimes…so instead of looking at a pair of high end couture earrings to wear for your wedding as impossible…why not borrow? Bag, Borrow or Steal is a fantastic company that allows you to rent out high end couture accessories. Whether it’s a fabulous Louis Vuitton bag or a pair of Chanel earrings, BBOS allows you to feel fabulous without having to empty out your bank account. Check out these fabulous bridal fashions that you can rent for your wedding day, or any party for that matter and feel special!
Rentals run from $24-$221 for a week. There are plenty of selections at different prices so it’s worth taking a look…

After having been out on “maternity leave” for about 2 years back in Feb, 2016 I decided to get back into the wedding planning game…this was one of my first weddings in the game…I think part of why I chose to do this wedding at that time in my life was because the Bride was […]
Ahhh the joys of being a wedding planner…there is truly nothing like being a part of a couple’s most special day…and there is nothing like watching it all just move along perfectly…I love my day job as an HR Director…but I also love my job as a wedding planner…. I have taken a bit of […]
